Students of Ringling College of Art and Design are responsible for these new license plate options, and you get to decide which will be the winning design.
The Fish &Camp; Wildlife Foundation of Florida, a nonprofit organization whose stated goal is working with partners to conserve animals and plants native to Florida, says its "Conserve Wildlife" license plate was one of the best-selling in the state. The foundation says sales have declined in recent years in the face of more "stylish" plates, so the organization turned to the Ringling College of Art and Design and The Patterson Foundation to create a better aesthetic design.
“This plate has generated more than $600,000 alone in recent years to help conserve the Florida black bear, which has rebounded from a total 400 bears 20 years ago to more than 4,000 bears today,” says Foundation CEO Andrew Walker. “We know the new design will be a bestseller that increases our ability to protect and manage Florida’s wonderful wildlife.”
Floridians can vote for their favorite design by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/bearplate.
Voting ends March 25th.
